Bam Bam: The Sister Nancy Story Leads Canadian Screen Awards Documentary Nominations

Doc scores eight nominations on TV side

Spare My Bones, Coyote! and Bam Bam: The Sister Nancy Story lead the film and television categories, respectively, in this year’s Canadian Screen Award nominations. The doc directed by Jonah Malek topped the film side with three nominations including Best Feature Length Documentary, while the doc by Alison Duke scored eight nominations in the TV field including Best Biography or Arts Documentary Program, leading the documentary categories overall. Spare My Bones, Coyote! follows a group of volunteers as they recover the remains of migrants who died while trying to cross the Arizona Desert. Bam Bam: The Sister Nancy Story showcases the life, music, and legacy of the singer whose titular tune has been sampled by countless artists since its release.
