The International Documentary Association (IDA) embraced the international side of its organization with the announcement of the nominees for this year’s IDA Awards. The slate offered a notably global scope with the Danish documentary Apolonia, Apolonia leading the pack with four nominations including Best Feature Documentary. Close on its heels were the South African doc Milisuthando and Morocco’s Oscar bid The Mother of All Lies with three nominations each including Best Documentary Feature.

On the Canadian front, Nisha Pahuja’s To Kill a Tiger landed two nominations: best music and best writing. The Canadian co-pro Operation Light, meanwhile, earned a nomination for Best Multi-Part Audio Documentary or Series. The audio doc is hosted by Dëneze Nakehk and produced by Michael LaPointe and Aliya Pabani.

The winners for the IDA Awards will be announced on December 12.
