Sarah Spring

Sarah Spring is the inaugural Executive Director of the Canadian Journalism Collective / Collectif Canadien de Journalisme (CJC-CCJ), where she is leading the work to disseminate $500M across Canada’s news sector to support independent journalism, as mandated under the Online News Act. At the CJC-CCJ, she will be focused on promoting innovation in local news markets and advocating on behalf of the entire industry to forge a sustainable path for the future. A veteran of Canada’s documentary film scene, Sarah was the Executive Director of the Documentary Organization of Canada (DOC) until March 2025.
