Go to the front lines of journalism with reporter Robert Fisk and director Yung Chang in This Is Not a Movie. The film, which is currently at IDFA after stops in the festival circuit at TIFF, RIDM, and DOC NYC, offers an invigorating snapshot of independent old-school reportage through the eyes of a seasoned player who has survived seismic changes in the industry while covering stories from some of the most volatile events worldwide. Chang accompanies Fisk as the veteran reporter chases stories and roots his work in on-the-ground interviews and fact-based analysis. It’s a necessary portrait of journalism in action.

Synopsis: For more than 40 years, journalist Robert Fisk has reported on some of the most violent and divisive conflicts in the world. Director Yung Chang captures Fisk in relentless action—feet on the ground, notebook in hand, as he travels into landscapes devastated by war, ferreting out the facts and firing reports back home to reach an audience of millions.
