The 2014 imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival

Point of View is proud to once again be a media sponsor of the imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival, celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2014!

imagineNATIVE showcases, promotes, and celebrates emerging and established Canadian and international Indigenous filmmakers and media artists. This year’s festival runs October 22-26, 2014, with an opening gala screening at the Bloor Hot Docs Cinema of Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement’s vampire mockumentary, What We Do In The Shadows.

There are many fantastic films to choose from (see the full list here), but we’d like to recommend in particular Alanis Obomsawin’s documentary Trick or Treaty?, screening on Saturday, October 25, 5:30pm at the TIFF Bell Lightbox. Read our review of the film, as well as this recent profile of the legendary filmmaker.

Filmmaker Michelle Latimer, who we profiled in our 2013 Hot Docs issue on the release of her documentary Alias, is also screening her short film The Underground on Friday, October 24, 6pm at the TIFF Bell Lightbox.
