Audiences can up their fill of Canadian content more easily thanks to a new partnership between Telefilm Canada and AppleTV. Beginning this week, the Canadian Movie of the Week feature will spotlight one Canadian film. Audiences can stream the film via AppleTV for only $0.99. Each week will offer a new film to help keep the pace of audience consumption habits during the pandemic.

This week’s release is The Rest of Us starring Heather Graham. The film is the feature debut of director Aisling Chin-Yee, whose doc No Ordinary Man hits general release this week. Other highlights in the release schedule include the 4K restoration of David Cronenberg’s masterfully provocative Crash, the ripped-from-the-headlines crime drama Target Number One, and Ingrid Veninger’s offbeat coming of age film Porcupine Lake. Audience can also have a crass Canada Day with The Kid Detective running the week of July 1.

“Discoverability is key to making Canadian filmmakers and their works thrive in an increasingly crowded marketplace,” said Christa Dickenson, Executive Director of Telefilm Canada, in a statement. “Hosting Canadian Movie of the Week on the Apple TV app makes it easy for viewers to explore Canadian films, from festival favourites to contemporary classics and much more.”
