RIDM is Now Accepting Submissions!
By Pat Mullen
Montreal’s Rencontres Internationales du Documentaire de Montréal, RIDM for short or alternatively know as the Montreal International Documentary Festival, is now accepting submissions! RIDM invites Canadian and international filmmakers to submit their short, medium, or feature length documentaries for consideration. The festival also accepts interactive docs. Films should be a Quebec premiere. Canadian filmmakers may submit here, while international filmmakers may submit here. RIDM runs Nov. 10 – 20, 2016.
RIDM is Quebec’s only festival devoted solely to documentaries. At a fair size (last year’s festival tallied 140 selections), films aren’t lost in the shuffle and there are ample opportunities for members of the doc community to see and discuss films at the fest. Like Toronto’s Hot Docs, it’s an essential forum for discovering Canadian and international documentaries, as the writers of POV noted while covering the festival last year.
RIDM accepts submissions until May 31. Bon cinéma!
