Record 170 Documentary Features in Hunt for Oscar

A record 170 documentary features are eligible in the Oscar race for Best Documentary Feature. This number breaks the previous high of 151 films submitted in 2013. All the expected frontrunners are in contention including Faces Place, Kedi, Step, Jane and City of Ghosts. On the Canadian front, The Skyjacker’s Tale and Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked the World represent the maple leaf in the Oscar race.

A shortlist of 15 films will be announced in early December.
