POV’s Don McCullin interview shown in the UK

In October 2012, the Harrogate Photographic Society, based in North Yorkshire, England, celebrated its 90th anniversary—and they asked Point of View to help out.

To mark the occasion, the Society arranged a programme of events and presentations showcasing work by skilled, exciting and truly inspirational photographers. One of these presentations, “The Life and Work of Don McCullin,” was given by Hilary Roberts, Head Curator of the National Photographic Archive at the Imperial War Museum, London. We were pleased to have been asked by Mike Hudson, President of the HPS, to incorporate parts of our online Interview Series with McCullin into the presentation and a subsequent exhibition.

Said Hudson: “The audience in general, and our Society’s members in particular, were very grateful that POV had been involved in a way that added much to the understanding of Don’s attitudes to photography.”

See below for a few photos from the event, and visit our video page to see the full POV interview with McCullin.
