Now Streaming: ‘Prince’s Tale’

By Pat Mullen

Catch one of the best short documentaries of the year now that Prince’s Tale has hit the web! The doc directed by Jamie Miller is a moving and artfully composed portrait of Toronto-based actor Prince Amponsah and his return to the stage following a horrible apartment fire in which he lost both his lower arms and was scarred all over his face and body.

Miller’s doc lets Prince tell his story as he takes the spotlight and finds his voice again. Beautifully shot and driven by a great character, the film is an inspiring and forward-looking essay on the need to create more space and opportunities for actors of all kinds. Winner of both the jury prize for Best Canadian Short and the Audience Award for Best Short Doc at Hot Docs this year, Prince’s Tale is not to be missed.
