Markham Street Films Appoints Aaron Hancox as VP Unscripted

Toronto-based production company Markham Street Films recently appointed producer Aaron Hancox as their new VP Unscripted. Markham Street Films, Co-Presidents Judy Holm and Michael McNamara announced the news yesterday. Hancox will oversee Markham Street Films’ current documentary work for Canadian and international broadcasters and he will develop factual content for all media.

“The last five years at Markham Street have been hugely rewarding and productive. I am thrilled to be continuing to work on expanding Markham Street’s unscripted slate in new and exciting areas,” said Aaron Hancox in a press release.

Hancox’s previous credits include the award winning 2007 short Cinema l’Amour and the powerful 2014 documentary feature David & Me, which tells the story of the relationship between filmmaker Ray Klonsky and David McCallum, a man who spent nearly thirty years in prison wrongfully convicted for murder. (He was released in 2014.) Hancox’s credits wth Markham Street Films also include the Canadian Screen Award nominated documentary Ice, Sweat, and Tears, and the 2015 feature The Trick with the Gun, which screens in Toronto at the Bloor Cinema on Nov. 19.
