Brett Gaylor and the NFB Launch ‘Ok Google’
By Pat Mullen
Google can do just about anything these days. Even, it seems, become a member of the family. This virtual branch of the family tree is the story behind Brett Gaylor’s new NFB digi doc OK Google. The film draws upon five years’ worth of recordings of Gaylor’s son, Rowan, interacting with Google’s voice-activated digital assistant. The film observes the growth of both the child and his AI buddy side by side as fun animation develops the amusing recordings. Don’t kids say the darnedest things?
